RMX PRESS RELEASE: Call for peace following anti-MONUSCO incidents

Dear ANGELS, dear POLLENS, Ladies and Gentlemen,

We, REGENERATION MATRIX group based in Switzerland with our members in the DRC, would first like to address Mr. Khassim Diagne, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of MONUSCO and His Excellency Félix Tshisekedi, President of the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC of CONGO, our sincere condolences for the civilian and military casualties they suffered during the anti-MONUSCO demonstrations.

Our groups from the LAKE ALBERT, LAKE EDWARD, LAKE KIVU, LAKE TANGANYIKA and KASSAÏ REGIONS, as well as our HEADQUARTERS in SWITZERLAND, we strongly condemn these acts of violence and call for a return to dialogue.

As part of our Living Secure activities of advice and coordination of our member organizations of Civil Society in the DRC, REGENERATION MATRIX group appeals in this press release to all Congolese ANGELS members of the consortium or POLLENS sympathizers of its RESILIENCE movement REGENERATION MATRIX, as well as to anyone who will pay attention to our following message of Peace.

We recommend that you stay at home and do not join the ongoing protests. Your life is precious to us.
We understand your dissatisfaction with the fact that your security has not been achieved at 95% as in all regions of the world where peace reigns.
To live in peace with your family and to do business in safety is a humanitarian right to achieve.
It is difficult for many of you in this atmosphere of fear and frustration to sit down at a table and think about what to do tomorrow.
It’s normal, you are human beings. And, like all human beings we have the right not to be infallible before god (according to our beliefs).
But, you live in a country that has laws and if you become an outlaw administrations then it will be difficult to help you move towards a better place.
Think about your priorities which are our families, our businesses, our cities. Let’s stay at home!
Join a civil society organization if you are not already there. She will represent you according to your grievances.
If we accept that we are not perfect then accept that those who protect you are not either.
There is a major concern security in ITURI, SOUTH KIVU, NORTH KIVU, no one denies it.
Every morning many of us do not know if they will still be alive at home in the evening. It is not normal. Clearly.
But have you thought about what you can do, as an individual or in an organization doing good, to improve our situation?
Stay passive and Not seeing anything improve is very frustrating, that’s for sure. This is how we end up demanding of others. But is that fair?
What’s fair is that each of us do our part to help secure our territory within the law.
We don’t speak no mob justice. It’s the worst thing to do because it often spirals into terrible crimes with innocent people in the middle.
We’re talking to you about taking a hand, giving a hand to our neighbor in our city , who will do the same further and all become united in the face of adversity instead of continuing to live in mistrust of others and of the future.
Let’s be united to create a beautiful future rather than letting you all gnaw towards death of body or soul.
The REPUBLIC needs us, alive, to build a more beautiful future than before.

We, all members and supporters of REGENERATION MATRIX group in the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO and elsewhere. We would also like to extend our condolences to the bereaved families and their friends. It’s hard to forgive the death of a child, but think beyond the pain of loss. Think about the future, about your other children and grandchildren. Only peace and forgiveness can create peace and abundance.

Our entire community condemns these acts of violence. We encourage the peaceful way and call for a return to dialogue.

We suggest that you open spaces for dialogue to those who need it.
