Following this failure, and clashes in the city between Kamuena Nsapu militiamen and the defense and security forces, the latter launched, on March 28, 2017, a “door-to-door” operation in Nganza. lasted several days.
The defense and security forces entered the homes of residents of Nganza commune and fired indiscriminately at men, women and children of all ages because of their supposed sympathy with the Kamuena Nsapu movement.
Women were turned into a collective space for rape, while the property of peaceful citizens was systematically looted.
