Concerns: Central Kasai is about to become the first local experience in the field of Transitional Justice.
The Congolese Society for the Rule of Law welcomes the investiture by provincial decree of the commissioners, members of the Provincial Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission this Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
She congratulates the Provincial Governor John KABEYA SHIKAYI for having appropriated without hesitation the process of implementing transitional justice mechanisms in Kasai Central.
SCED believes that with this investiture, a major step regarding the operationalization of the truth-seeking mechanism has just been taken.
It urges the government to develop a clear and precise roadmap for the implementation of this mechanism and to the Provincial Assembly to provide a substantial budget line for the proper functioning of the Commission.
It requests increased attention from the international community on its technical and financial support.
Finally, the SCED congratulates its Director General, the Bâtonnier Dominique KAMBALA NKONGOLO for his investiture.
