Finally, the meeting of the Superior Council of the Judiciary is held almost 6 years later.
The Congolese Society for the Rule of Law welcomes the holding, from Tuesday July 5, 2022, of the CSM meeting, after several cancellations, postponements, procrastination and procrastination.
For the SCED, these long-awaited meetings should allow justice to recover its letters of nobility, to question itself and to rethink its strategic role in the construction of a true rule of law.
The SCED expects from this work the following:
- The vote of a budget likely to improve the working and living conditions of magistrates and to reduce the glaring gaps between salaries;
- The positive sanction of magistrates passionate about professional conscience and respectful of the cardinal virtues of the profession;
- Cleaning up the career, by rooting out crooked members who tarnish the brand image of justice through unspeakable judicial banditry;
- The increase in the number of magistrates, especially in post-conflict jurisdictions and in a state of siege;
- decide on the recruitment of judges in progress, so that it is carried out transparently and under conditions such that even a candidate who is son of a peasant has hope of getting a job;
- The activation of the swearing in of the magistrates of the Court of Auditors, in order to enable this high court to fight against corruption and for good governance.
