Serious crimes committed in the Kasaï Central region (Dossier MULOMBODI RMP 1727/BMG/19; RMP 1733/BMG/19): » The Congolese Society for the Rule of Law pleads in favor of the holding of a public hearing of the High Military Court in Kananga”.
September 22, 2016 – September 22, 2022, both national and international opinion will remember that six years ago, to the day, following the attack on Lungandu airport, in Kananga, by the elements of the Kamuina Nsapu militia, the Christ Roi Mulombodi Church Camp was stormed by the defense and security forces.
For two days, women, young girls and some men were transformed into a collective rape space, while several men were arbitrarily arrested and transferred to BOBOZO Military Camp, commonly known as “EFO”. Their property was systematically looted.
Now that the highest authority in the country has authorized the prosecution of a defendant, a high-ranking officer;
Now that the FARDC Auditor General has closed the file;
Now that the file has been sent to the High Military Court for fixation, the SCED demands that the Government of the Republic translate its firm will to fight against impunity for serious crimes into action, by providing the High Military Court with the financial and logistical means necessary to hold the mobile hearing in Kananga.
Likewise, it urges the technical and financial partners to mobilize in order to support the organization of this trial, as they demonstrated during the murder case of the two UN experts.
Meanwhile, the many victims suffer from impatience in the face of judicial delays.
Kinshasa, September 22, 2022.

President Dominique KAMBALA
